ted1Chairman – RCAF Association Trust Fund Board of Trustees – Grant E. “Ted” Mahood, CD – National President, 2005-2007 In 1958, following Aero Engine Technician Trade Training he was posted to RCAF Station Cold Lake, Alberta, employed on KDA Firebbe Drones, T-33, F-86, CF-100 and CF-104. Ted was posted to RCAF Station Centralia, Ontario in 1963 and employed on Chipmunks. When Centralia closed in 1964 he was posted to RCAF Station Moose Jaw, Sask, employed in the T-33 engine bay and attended the first Tutor engine course. From 1965 to 1974 Ted was at 407 VP Squadron RCAF Station/CFB Comox working on Neptunes and the Argus. From 1974 to 1979 he was at Canadian Forces Base Chatham, New Brunswick, employed on CF-101 with 416 Squadron, then to Base Rescue as a Technical Crewman on CH-118. (Read more here…)

Ronald Bannister. Ron Bannister joined the Royal Canadian Air Force Association in February of 1985. Very soon thereafter he assumed the duties of Membership Chairman 784 Wing Cold Lake. In 1986-87 he was elevated to the position of President. He assumed the role of Vice President North Alberta Group from 1987 to 1989. In 1990 he rose to the position of President Alberta Group Royal Canadian Air Force Association of Canada, after which he became Regional Director Western in 1993/94. After a move to Edmonton, he became Recording Secretary for 700 Wing Edmonton AB in 1995. He lent his services as Co-Chairman for the 1995 National AGM which was held in Edmonton. In 1996 he assumed the role of Membership Chairman 700 Wing Edmonton AB 1996 and served for three years. He was the 1st Vice President 700 Wing Edmonton from 1999 to 2001, and President 700 Wing Edmonton AB from 2001/2002. He was the Vice President Interior Pacific Group from 2004 to 2006 and 1st Vice President Pacific Group 2006. Thereafter he became 1st Vice President 890 Wing Penticton BC from 2006 to 2008 and President 890 Wing Penticton BC to the present time. In 2005, Ron was elected Co- Chairman of the Veterans Association of Penticton and continues to serve in that capacity today. In 2007 he was appointed Chairman of the Penticton Cenotaph Committee and Veterans Memorial Park. He also serves as the Chairman of 890 Wing Cairn Committee, which will be dedicated April 1 2010. In late 2009 Ron accepted the important duty of Trustee to the Royal Canadian Air Force Association Trust Fund.
